Hello dear friend
I am sorry for having been rather rude towards you. You are right; soon after our first meeting I called a Petroplus trader to sell Bonny light to him. This was the first time somebody telling me, that Bonny light trades roughly USD 10 to USD 20 above Arab Crude.
We all know that there are roughly 2500 to 3000 small firms the same kind as ours throughout all Nigeria. There were even some which got licenses to explore and to refine. Of course none of them succeeded. This by pure lack of skills, know-ledge, know-how, science and experience. Thus the government cancelled their licences because of inactivity.
Given that Bonny light is tagged to Brent - meaning that Bonny light is traded at the same price as Brent - Nigerian NNPC will never ever sell any drop of Bonny light until the tag proving to be some nasty handcuffs will removed by Nigerias NNPC or the ones being responsible for that tag/link suffocating Jonathan Goodluck Administration's programme as to develop Nigerian domestic economy being rolled out right now. (Well done presentations on Nigerian television stations)
Also I had a look at the development of the Brent price versus Arab Crude over the past few years. I found that Brent thus the unfortunatly tagged Bonny light has been traded USD 10 to USD 20 above Arab crude for roughly two good years. As you made me aware of the fact that twenty to thirty vessels anchoring off Bonny Island crammed with Bonny up to their brims, I suddenly realized that Nigeria - ranked 6 when it comes to proven oil reserves - for roughly two years never sold a drop. Also I realized that this is going on until the Arabs will have desperatly raised enough money to foster their crashing members (e.g. Dubai in fact bankrupt, a lot of uncompleted houses). Also I believe that Saudi Arabia is manipulating the Brent Price on the CBOT Chicago Board of Trade in the US. It is more than evident, that the contracts traded overthere will never be fullfilled. They are just rolled over from one month to the other. (Sell spot, buy future, sell spot buy future and so on. They even can be the counterparties on both sides through two different channels - this called "at arms' length, ethically, morally faultively but legally done) This they do for the purpose of crowding OPEC member Nigeria out, misusing Nigerian voluntary tag (Bonny/Brent) to use their upstream quota as well.
Remedy
If Nigeria and all its small up to 3000 companies like ours want to succeed in selling Bonny light, the TAG/LINK Bonny/Brent forcedly must be cut. My suggestion is that Nigeria will trade Bonny light right in the country where it is produced. THIS IS NIGERIA. In the first place it easily can be traded on the Nigerian Stock exchange. All facilities regarding the rest of the upstream business are available in Nigeria. (Warehouses are the vessels, paperwork and delivery procedure outstandingly well)
In a later stage Nigeria will have to establish a commodity exchange such as CBOT Chicago Board of Trade. Possiblly ABOT Abuja Board of Trade, LBOT Lagos Board of Trade. On those boards Nigeria will trade all goods produced in Africa. Coacoa, sheanuts, corn, Hausa/Fulany cows, goats, yams, cola nuts and others as to make it easier for farmers to calculate their cashflow as well as future crop, cattle and the sort.
This is what I am aiming at. And this is what I have always been aiming at. Also this is what I will be aiming at. It is part of developing Nigerian domestic economy. While doing this and if achieved, it will be easy for all of us to sell that Bonny light. Because Nigeria will govern and rule the market. If money needed Nigeria simply is going to sell its Bonny light slightly below Arab crude. Everybody will then buy Bonny Light.
When it comes to the Petroplus deal I am suggesting, this is a first step to bring downstream facilities to Nigeria. This company is struggling because the bank consortium cancelled the credit facility of USD 1 Billion to ground Petroplus. This company is of an enormeous strategic value. Know-how, experience, knowledge and science is concentrated within Petroplus. Because of retarded management - mismanaging board of directors too arrogant, too ignorant, too retrograde - the shareprice gradually - crash by bits - came from CHF 120.00 to CHF 50.00, CHF 3.50 before Christmas, after announcment of the credit facility's cancellation CHF 1.70, today after managements announcment to go chapter 11, CHF 0.30. This company with all its goodies right now can be bought for lousy CHF 28 Millions, yesterday aat CHF 1.40 per share its overall value still was CHF 140 Million, imagine.
My suggestion for everybody, all citizens, the poor, the rich, peasents, farmers, commissionars senators, presidents, officials, politicians, labour union men is to buy Petroplus Switzerland. Then because of the resulting number of votes point out three quickwitted, intelligent, well educated, not forcedly upstream business insiders, to be eligible for joining the board of directors, exchanging the hesitating ones for the openminded focussed on the future.
Figures to play around with
160 Million Nigerians each buy shares for 160 NGN. Result: NGN 25.6 Billion (NGN 25 600 000 000) or CHF 160 Million (CHF 160 000 000) Each Nigerian investing NGN 1600 will result to an amount of CHF 1.6 Billion (CHF 1 600 000 000) which are NGN 256 Billion (NGN 256 000 000 000)
Play around with those figures and you will feel the might and power lying within the people' hands. The government's only step to have to be done is untagging Bonny light from Brent. This will bring money, jobs, know-how, knowledge, science and experience to Nigeria for to be compulsorily shared with Nigerians to have Nigerians become independent from Northern Banks, Administrations and the sort.
This in fact is what I am after. All I want is to speak up freely for the benefit of everybody, really everybody included, this happening in a very clean way.
If Nigerian Goodluck Administration handels the matter carefully the economy of West Africa (ECOWAS) lead by Nigeria will boost like a rocket. I stand for that and it is my very strong belief that this will happen. It is inevitable.
As to my shooting out voice the other day I really want to appologize. I do not say I did not mean it. To be frank and honest, I really meant it. Upon pondering about the happening I came to the conclusion that I did not explain to you well enough for you to fully understand. I am positive about making everything as clear and transparent as possible.
Sincerely yours
thomas ramseyer
P.S. two years ago when i was shooting out at a meeting with swiss and africans, one of the africans uttered, that I behave just like a Nigerian. My answer was: "That makes me very proud". I got up, said: "I am alike Nigerians if it pleases you and this is why I will not loose any other second to palaver with you." Then I left.
I am happy to be in Nigeria and I decided to be buried in my own compound overhere in Oyo State. This expresses everything. As you remember, I do not want a contract nor do I want to be paid. All I want is freely speaking up without any limit to anybody, anywhere about whatsoever. My familiy is here.
